André Politzer, Your Executive Coach

He also is a multi-faceted artist who spent most of his childhood in Paris where , at age 14, he discovered the world of drama. Learned acting & producing with Tania Balachova, Laurent Terzieff and Jacques Lecoq. He met and worked with other aspiring young French actors who later became stars and André soon realized he did not like that kind of lifestyle.He acted in numerous productions in England and in France, but eventually this interest was surpassed by his business education.

 

He changed his life's trajectory and parlayed his hobby and education into studying Economy at the University Paris IX Dauphine, and  specialized in Hotel Management in Switzerland. After working for the upscale division of THF Hotels (UK based worlwide chain) in Paris, André moved to the US as part of a task force with opening of new five stars hotel operations in Dallas, New York and Philadelphia. He brought back to Europe a unique experience with emerging technologies for the industry, especially management software, point of sales, and central reservations systems, making him a pioneer in the field. He had his own trade-publication and trade-show company.

 

Over the next decade he accepted successive positions with increasing responsibility in various companies such as ADP, Spectradyne, Sargent, Siemens Nixdorf and IDT Telecom. He also produced a weekly radio show in France as well as a program in partnership with the BBC on Identity. He attributes his achievements to a little talent, lots of listening, being in the right place at the right time, a lot of hard work and perseverance. That is what brings him to coaching. An art he had the privilege and the passion to practice for over 10 years now.


How Your Focus Point Started:

In 1985, André Politzer created Aptitude Internationale, a European-based consulting firm, which was basically conceived to bring new technologies to market, and to educate decision-makers about the various applications that were available to them and all potential ROI attached to these technology investments. This was so successful that the firm grew to four times its size during its first two years of existence. Since the firm’s primary focus was to help people in different leadership roles to recognize and conquer all those things that they considered “scary,” this might include a general inability to cope with new technology, via a fear of “exposure” through this increasingly wide-open medium.

 

Since the company opened up its doors, André continued to refine his coaching techniques, making them far more dynamic and structured. Helping leaders and entrepreneurs to cope with this fear was accomplished through individual consulting, and the overall procedure utilized in this assistance was systematically designed like a coaching session. By listening, and understanding and assessing the individual’s needs and potential, André was able to help them to both discover and embrace the potential they had, and to accept, for instance, the use of technology in helping their business grow. André moved to the US in 1989, and resided in various positions with corporate America. All the while, André still kept the Aptitude Internationale running, made it more international, and had eight consultants and coaches join him in his efforts. The firm gained a reputation as gurus of discovering and opening new markets for high-tech applications, by translating sophisticated applications for the newly “idiot-proofed” user.
